Distinctive Statuary & Water Gardens is a family owned & operated business with roots in the manufacturing of ornamental concrete dating back to 1962. The heritage of the Bechstein family runs deep in the state of Florida, spanning five decades of superior craftsmanship in the art of statue making. All of the products shown in the "Distinctive" and "Unique" catalogues are manufactured right here in Orlando Florida, one mile west of our five acre sales lot on East Colonial Drive.
Our "Unique" line of products are a special tribute to Mom & Dad, Marvin & Eileen Bechstein, who first started manufacturing and selling fine statuary products in Orlando under the name of "Unique Statuary" after re-locating here from our original home in Pompano Beach Florida in 1971. The current "Unique" line of products were purchased in the year 2000 from Jerry Karlik of Florida Statuary & Molds located in St. Petersburg Florida. Jerry & his late father Joe designed and created this line of products beginning in the early 70's. To this very day Jerry continues to create new additions to this line of products for us that were originated by his father Joe back in the days that our Mom & Dad were building our families tradition here in Orlando Florida.
A tradition that continues on through the third generation of both of our families here in Orlando and St. Petersburg.
